The Great Plankton Race
At the very first level of the food chain is the sun. Plankton use it so they can photosynthesize. A lot of other and bigger plankton feed off of smailer plankton. They all lie within the photic zone or they have to. They aren't good as swimmers, so they are more of drifters and they must rely on their adaptations to stay within the photic zone.
In this lab we created our own plankton and we had to make it neutrally buoyant as much as possible. If it floated it would automatically be disqualified. It's supposed to kind of replicate what or how plankton float or how they control their depth in water. We had to make the decision on what adaptations our plankton will have.

Well here it is, my creation that I made. It's really just a last minute idea I made. It's called sushoplankton. Got the name from sushi because one of my classmates gave me the idea that it looked like sushi or at least some what like sushi.
I wanted the tinfoil to be like flat so it can at least some what sink slower, giving it a bit of buoyancy. The blue foam makes it so that I wanted to make it almost cancel out the rest of its weight in water so it could be neutrally buoyuant.
Like I said, made this like the last half hour of class so it didn't go through enough tests to where I can give it modifications so it has that "sweet zone" where it can be at least sink down very slow. I knew because of that, it either just float above water or it would sink down to fast than the rest of my classmates. In the end it officially went being floating, so it was disqualified.
